The name "Sabachar" isn’t just a brand; it's a tribute to my roots, a blend of two worlds shaped by my parents, whose legacy of grace and refinement lives on in every collection I curate. Pronounced “SAH-BA-SHA,” Sabachar combines letters from the names of my beloved parents: SA from my father Sakeu, BA from my mother Bagone, and CHAR from her second name, Charlotte. They had eyes for the finer things in life, each contributing a unique influence to my sense of style and the ethos behind Sabachar.

Growing up, my father instilled in us a love for cleanliness and composure. He believed in starting each day with purpose, often insisting we shed our pajamas well before mid-morning. My mother, a former teacher turned seamstress, taught me the beauty of style that stands the test of time. She valued garments that could be passed down, pieces that transcended fleeting trends. Her teachings were grounded in girl-guide principles of presentability and attention to detail. She believed that every garment should be mended, every detail polished, every outfit intentional. I carry her wisdom with me, along with her cherished SINGER sewing machine—a reminder of her passion and skill.

My love for style was further nurtured by my uncle Andrew, a gentleman who prized quality in everything he wore, and my aunt Grace, who demonstrated the power of elegance and composure. Together, they shaped my appreciation for dressing thoughtfully and showing up confidently.
